Have you thought about partnering with organizations that try to supply technology to developing countries?

Hey Jennifer,
i would like to advice you on something, concerning the website, try to make this proposition with the developed countries, cause, with the devolloping ones, its not doable since even some important companies dont use internet, or dont have acces to internet( the internet is not a used tool yet) |

@SAK We want to encourage this model internally at SG too, and think that their employees could serve as grassroots investors. For more developed businesses, SG provides investment opportunities through its retail banking division.
From a business sense, the likes of Kiva have more or less proven the concept of online microlending. But beyond that, we also believe that P2P financing as a whole is a largely untapped resource, most especially in developed areas because the Internet could be a very effective tool at reducing transactional costs and increasing market liquidity. |

Hi,
In case of micro lending, which is one of the key elements to your model, what processes would SG have to put in place to really render this possible? |

I love the combination of microlending and a support network. This sounds like a great project, and I hope you can get the funding to put it in place. |

Would like to see perhaps something set up that requires them to pay it forward. Yes, most would, but if specific requirement was set up then it would encourage more. Also, it would be great to create something with women in similar industries, or same, to come together to see how they can help one another or improve their knowledge of their craft. Apologies if this is somewhere else on the site. |

Great idea. Do include face-to-face meetings with mentors as well as web chats and links. If you require web interface to participate, then you might exclude women who are not web savvy. You might remove this barrier by providing training in web use in the in-person initial contacts with participants. |

I think it would be important to stress other resources in the online tools, such as articles of interest to women entrepreneurs, like balancing familial responsibilities. |

I think this is a wonderful idea and project! I think a big issue facing many women in business is how they balance work and family. I'm glad to see family included in your mission. |
