In the end, we hope that we will all
realize how important is for these ideas to be brought to life, by encouranging young people's entrepreneurial spirit!
Enjoy!
(If you want your start-up dream to appear here,
please describe it in few words or with a picture/drawing and send it to us at
standbyyouth@gmail.com. Let us proove what great minds you have!)
1. She is
Maria.
And this is her start-up dream: a
car shed for painting trams.
2. Everybody meet
Roxana and her startup dream!
She would like to develope an online startup, namely
a site from where you can buy ideas for surprises and nice presents for the ones you love. Depending on the category in which the present falls, she will customize it for the client and make the wonderful surprise for him/her.
3.
Our friend, Corina
presents her start-up project: "I dream of owning a
PolkaDot Hotel. It will be located on the sea-side, maybe in
an old-greek-style house. Everything in the hotel, ESPECIALLY the walls will be
painted with dots! Here, you can do whatever you want and our main atraction
will be scuba-diving!"
4.
Ruxi
also has a start-up dream:
A restaurant where you can take a nap after you ate.
5. It seems Ruxi is not the only one having the idea of a place where you eat and take a nap afterwards.
Carmen
And here is Carmen speaking about her dream:
"Have you ever had a few hours to waste in the city and nothing to do? Or have you traveled to another place and again, had to wander on the streets for hours, feeling tired and bored? Well, with
the Nap Cafe you wouldn't have these issues!
Nap Cafe is a place where, as the name says, you can simply come and take a nap! You can enjoy some tasty drinks and delicious snacks and then just sit back on our comfy couches and take an imaginary walk in the land of dreams. Our waiters will make sure you wake up in time and continue your daily activities.
We assure you that you'll leave with a smile on your face! Warning: no snoring allowed! :)"
6. The next young lady who will share her dream is
Ioana
Her start-up idea sounds like this: „I always dreamt at
a tango salon, full of smoke, with boys and girls chatting at a glass of wine and with couples dancing sexy, with passion; the girls would wear red ponchos and black dresses, and the guys would wear hats.”
7.
Corina
says:
"My business centers around the
small precious things I make by hand with my crochet, my wonderful braiding tools and sewing machine.
Some are sprinkled with tinsel and pretty soon i'll wrap up my collection of
diamond-socks for all the charming chic young ladies who step up to the challenge.
Welcome!"
"I have many, many dreams of start-ups, some that are crazy and probably undoable, some that have already been done but I think I can do them better.
But one start-up that I think would definitely improve my life and my friends’ is to have
a morning MBS* shop. Starting from 2 am until the sun rises, if you take in a walk in the center of Bucharest you see young people leaving the clubs and going for a shaorma. Usually you are hungry, tired, and you need something tasty before going to bed. And plus it is the moment when you wrap up the night with your friends.
Therefore, it is a quite important social ritual for the young Romanians. But shaorma can be very heavy in the morning and therefore it’s not so enjoyable.
But just imagine leaving the club, being cold, tired and then BAM! You have some hot, tasty, creamy and healthy polenta with cheese and sour cream – that’s what I call heaven.
Good luck girls, I hope you’ll make my dream come true.

9.
Mona is a master student in Strategic Marketing Management at BI Norwegian School of Management, Oslo, Norway.
Mona has a business vision more oriented to helping people.
Her dream, as soon as she comes back home, is to launch an
educational program for institutionalized children from Romania. She
wants to change not only the situation of those children, of the
orphanages, of the people that work for and with those children, she
wants to change the mentality of Romania.
She wants grow up a generation of children with a book in their
hand and to give them the chance to become leaders for other
generations.
By empowering those children she will empower Romania.
10. Let us present the only man who had the courage to share his vision:
Vlad.
And here is Vlad's rather unusual dream for a man:
"I would like to open
a kindergarten where games that stimulate children’s creativity replace normal studying programs. Children can create their own playground by putting together these pieces , they can make a lot of combinations, they can practically realize everything they imagine.
These pieces are made by a guy called David Rockwell, who says that "Every parent has an opinion about how kids should play. It's something that grownups want to control...but the more I observe kids playing, they do it best themselves.""
