• Retail Banking and Specialized Financial Services
In France, the bank operates two complementary distribution networks, namely Société Générale and Crédit du Nord representing a total of 3,000 branches and 9.6 million individual customers at the end of December 2008. Our objective is to create added-value solutions to our customers’ needs. Through its International Retail Banking division, the Group is present in 36 countries, with a total of 3,700 branches and some 63,000 staff serving 12 million individual customers and over 800,000 companies.

• Global Investment Management and Services
The Global investment management and services division (GIMS) incorporates five complementary business lines: Société Générale Asset Management, SG Private Banking, Société Générale Securities Services, Newedge (multi asset brokerage business) and Boursorama (Online banking). It employs close to 11,000 staff worldwide. In 2009, we will continue to improve the quality of our service and our professionalism across these five businesses, while furthering development in France, Europe and the rest of the world.

• Corporate and Investment banking
On behalf of corporates, financial institutions and investment funds in over 40 countries, we devise integrated financial solutions, and our leadership is recognised in Europe and the rest of the world, in euro capital markets, derivatives and structured finance.
