You are a business, engineering or university student.
You believe that the role of a major international bank goes beyond mastering financial transactions; it also involves commitment to civic responsibility. You have a vision of the future and plenty of ideas. You’re ready to take part in CITIZEN ACT!
A real-life challenge.
CITIZEN ACT is a unique international business game. It is based on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), and calls on participants' spirit of innovation to discover the perfect balance between the inventiveness and feasibility of their proposals.
Preparing the future.
In the future, in your professional life, you’ll be required to make big decisions that engage your company's Corporate and Social Responsibility. CITIZEN ACT can already give you the chance to express your vision of this strategic field.
Participants from all over the world.
On the strength of the success of the first competitions, CITIZEN ACT has now reached a global scale, by extending its field to new countries, particularly in Asia. No fewer than 55 teams from 120 schools and universities will be taking part this year, representing 35 countries!
A bank makes a commitment.
Finally, CITIZEN ACT offers you the chance to see the banking business in a different light, via Société Générale's pledge to strive for a world with humanist values. A world with a conscience. In short, a more responsible world.
Société Générale is giving your ideas a headstart. It's up to you to push them further.
How to play
Each team of three Citizen Actors designs a project — their Citizen Act — answering the following question taking up the challenge: Invent the bank of tomorrow! Following registration, 55 teams will be selected to take part in the CITIZEN ACT Opening Meeting on February 3rd 18th, 2010 at Société Générale headquarters, in Paris. This event marks the launch of the game. The teams will meet their Société Générale coachs, and after the meeting, they will have a private visit in Paris on the theme of CSR, to boost the creative process!
Immediately afterwards, each team will present their project on a wikiblog accessible to all students in their school or university. The Société Générale coach will act as their contact, liaising between the team and the relevant Group experts, as and when necessary. The wikiblog will reflect the involvement of its creators and will serve to generate buzz. It will arouse the interest of Web users through pictures, podcasts and comments. The Citizen Actors will have three weeks to define and draft their Citizen Act. At the end of this period, six teams will be invited to Paris to present their projects at the CITIZEN ACT Final Contest. The creators of the three best projects will win an eco-friendly trip to meet new cultures and people. The winning teams can also choose to use the money intended for the trip to launch their project.
Ready, set… go!
