1. A training game? What is it?
A training game is a mix between a competition and training.
The objective of CITIZEN ACT is not simply to enable you to meet challenges relevant to the corporate or business world as in a standard business game.
The challenge is of course to offer you an experience which will really contribute to your personal development about CSR matters and which may be of use to you in your career. -
2. What is CEL?
CEL (teChnology Enhanced Learning) is an accreditation which rewards the best training schemes based on telecommunications technologies.
This accreditation is awarded by the EFMD, an independent internationally recognised organisation, which works towards elevating education and training standards in the world.
Société Générale is proud to be the first bank to obtain this accreditation for one of its initiatives.
Every student selected for the Opening Meeting or the Final Contest will receive a participation certificate. -
3. Which criteria are used to select students at the various stages?
Recruitment:
Multiple choice = 30%
Mini case study = 60%
Team spirit: creation of the team sheet and buzz = 10%

4. Which external bodies are taking part in this campaign?
The 2011/2012 campaign aims to emphasise on training as never before with the support of two well-known bodies:
CCMP:
The CCMP (Central Case and Teaching Media) offers teaching resources and training specific to management trainers but also IT engineering and case consulting.
The cases on which students will reflect will be established in collaboration with CCMP.
UNEP-FI:
UNEP FI is an international partnership between the United Nations programme for the environment and the financial sector. Over 190 institutions, including banks, insurance companies and fund managers work with UNEP FI to understand the impact of environmental and social considerations on financial performance.
The students selected at the Opening Meeting will participate in a workshop run by the UNEP-FI. -
5. Who is the patron of this campaign?
Anne Marion Bouchacourt, Human Resources Director at Société Générale will once again be the spokesperson for this 6th campaign.

6. How many teams can be selected?
We select up to 45 teams of 3 people to participate in the Opening Meeting and all the participations we receive are assessed and ranked by the jury of CITIZEN ACT. Teams not selected will also receive feedback on their work.

7. What is the final date for registration?
Monday 5 December at 19h GMT (Paris time).

8. What are the prizes?
This year, the total value of prizes will be €15,000.
4 prizes will be awarded:
3 winning teams will be selected + 1 team selected by SG employees.
1st prize €7,000;
2nd prize €5,000;
3rd prize €3,000;
employees' prize €2,000.
Each student in the winning team decided by the Société Générale staff members will win a notebook worth €300.
In addition to these prizes, the opportunity for an internship will be presented to the winning teams. -
9. How many countries took part in CITIZEN ACT last year?
CITIZEN ACT welcomed 249 students from 37 countries.

10. How do you register?
CITIZEN ACT requires a team participation. To register your team, every member must first register individually and you will then be able to form your team.
Registration will be open from 03/10/2011 to 05/12/2011. During this time, you will be able to access the registration form directly from the home page. Just click here to register, completing the required information. -
11. How to fill out your registration form correctly?
The registration form must be duly completed, because it creates the team sheet for your team. This team sheet is essential to generate a buzz about your team (reminder: the buzz counts towards the team’s score!)
The information in the team sheet can be altered at any moment after registration, except for the name of your team. Therefore you should choose the name of your team carefully when registering since it will be definitive.
• Remember, your team must be made up of 3 students who are following a course of study and attend the same business or engineering school or university.
• To begin with, take care to fill out all the fields marked with an asterisk, which are obligatory for the validation of your form.
• All the information provided must be truthful and accurate.
• Once your form has been validated, a confirmation e-mail will be sent to the e-mail address provided confirming validation of the form. This e-mail will contain your login and password allowing you to access and manage your page.
• Once your form has been validated, an e-mail will be sent to the 3 e-mail addresses entered by the 3 members of the team. This confirmation e-mail will contain a login and password allowing you to connect to the Citizenact website and manage your page.
Here are a few tips to really generate a buzz and share your values:
• Write your biography including your educational background.
• Add photos of the participants in the ‘avatar’ section to personalize your page.
• Enter initiatives that inspire you in the ‘CSR links’ section.
• Invent a team motto that reflects your values.
• Indicate the values that are important to you in the ‘values’ section.• Feel free to create your own Citizen Act Facebook page and to include a link to the official page. A Twitter account can also increase your notoriety and generate a buzz about your team.

12. How do you play?
Assessments will be open from 07/11/2011 to 05/12/2011 and every team may access them by hovering over the "Training" section, then the sub-sections appear. Click on sub-section "Play" to access the assessment module composed of a multiple choice and mini case study.
Multiple choice test
This multiple choice will be composed of questions of several types.
You will have 1 minute per question to answer.
You have until 5 December 19h (GMT) to complete this module.
When the team begins a question, the timer begins.
At the end of the countdown, your answer will be recorded and you will automatically move to the next question.
If the team has not answered in time to the question, the answer will be recorded as wrong and automatically validated.
You will have the possibility of stopping the multiple choice between two questions and completing it at a later date. However, it will not be possible to come back to a question once you have answered it.
Mini case study:
The mini case study is an open question. You must answer it as follows:
1- Download the documents made available in the mini case study interface
2- Complete the document as a team
3- Upload the finalised document onto the same interface. -
13. How do you access the experts' contents?
Throughout the game, the experts' content can be accessed in order to provide you with useful knowledge for the assessment module. Click on sub-section "Experts content" to access the experts' content.
Experts contents
Set yourself on the way to success and enrich your CSR knowledge: make use of all the advice and help sheets to start the competition. Don't forget that these documents will be useful for the first selection stage through the assessment module.
